Roberto Novoa (born August 15, 1979 in Las Matas de Farfan, Dominican Republic) is a pitcher in Major League Baseball. Novoa currently plays for the Chicago Cubs after making his major league debut in 2004 with the Detroit Tigers. In the 2004/2005 offseason, Novoa was traded to the Cubs along with minor leaguers Scott Moore and Bo Flowers for Kyle Farnsworth.
Farnsworth was reviled among Cubs fans during his last couple of years with the team, so the trade was immediately popular. However, Novoa struggled in the bullpen with the Cubs, earning him the wrath of many Cubs fans.
During the 2006-07 offseason, Novoa suffered several injuries, including a hand fracture, during a rollvoer car accident in the Dominican Republic. He is currently on the 60-day disabled list.
